This painting was inspired by the peace on the face of a widow in Vrindavan, standing while others were playing Holi. Her face sans of any customary symbols of marriage, could belong any religion. And it is her that creates a god out of a piece of stone. But then it is the "supposed religions" around the stones that turn the world of men against her. And it is that dichotomy that makes me wonder, if the god is indeed a human after all and not the divine we make them to be.
