I am part of world of palaces, open courtyards. Where even the desert air becomes cooler the moment it enters my "haveli". I belong to a family which has comforts in life, majority of the people outside my world do not have. Yet being born a girl has done me in!!!
I am confined to this world. I have to abide by the rules, and list of things I should do or should not do. I am but a living doll, decorated, moulded, carrying the burden of the "honour" of the family. I see my brothers getting a different treatment then me. I suspect some of my sisters were buried in pots in the ground with a prayer to come back as " my brothers". I am lucky I am living, but am I?
All I want to do is go out and play, see the world outside my haveli unescorted, free like the winds, but I know I will never be able to do so.
